My new best friend

I have had a very exciting weekend. Why? you ask, I had my very first sleep over at my house with Daphne. It was excellent. We sat in boxes, colored, and I got to take a bath in the big tub with her. I can do everything she can do, at least I tried. Daphne taught me how to push the buttons on the dishwasher and open drawers. I can't wait until we can have another sleep over.

I bet I can get these two to do anything.

Giddy up!

Brunch, the most important meal between breakfast and lunch

Let it Snow!

I think the hats are a Republican thing...

Nanamania!

Had a great time last weekend with Nanima and Nanaji. We had so much fun that it's taken me a week to recover enough energy to post this blog entry.
Nanaji taught me the Bonanza theme song, and took nearly enough pictures of me to fill a gallery. I was, of course, completely stunning in each and every photo. Too bad I can't say the same for Mommy and Daddy.
Nanima taught me to drink from a cup, and brought me a racecar. To avoid any future confusion, let me state here and now that despite the cool car's presence, I remain the fastest thing in the household.

Auntie Caroline was here too, and I did my best to convince her to move to MPLS. If the 20 inches of standing snow didn't convince her, I'm sure my "special diaper presents" did. Of note, I've never seen Auntie Caroline without a bottle of Mendota water... her parents must have to change her all the time!

Habitot for Humanity

Mommy, Daddy and I went to the Minnesota Children's Museum this weekend. Had a great time with the Earth Room, but really loved the Habitot, an interactive free-range baby zone.
I learned about "The Pond", and all about turtles. I also learned that stuffed badgers taste nearly identical to stuffed raccoons.

I left my heart in San Francisco

Well my heart really is in Minnesota, but the sub-zero wind chill plays tricks on the mind.

Musical Finale

Sorry I haven't been blogging as often as I would like, but with all of my new mobility there is so much more to do. My new favorite activity is to race Mommy to the trash can. She wins most of the time, but that is only because I have to stop crawling when I laugh at her trying to catch me.
My diet is expanding quickly now. I like eating bananas the most. They squish through my fingers and make a big mess. It is amazing how I am able to get bananas in my ears and nose easily, yet my mouth is so much more difficult.
Alas, my last music class was yesterday. I enjoyed class a lot, but I am looking forward to next semester even more when I will be with the big kids (10 months - 3 years).

23

I had a fun weekend with Meerauntie, and got my first exposure to Art.
We went to the Walker Art Center, where I talked to a dolphin oracle.
It said that the secret to life was twenty-three, not forty-two.
Everyone was impressed, but no one asked me. I could have told them that six months ago.

In other news, I learned to crawl this week, and have unleashed all manner of havoc on Mommy!
She can now no longer so much as turn her back for a second!
I rule!

Quick Study

Hi everyoneI
Do you remember that my Mom and Dad are in Los Vegas and I am with Dadaji and DadiMa. I am having fun with them. Looks like DadiMa and Dadaji forgot my name, they keep calling me smiley and precious one. I have some surprise for Mom and Dad whenther come back. I have learned the following :
1. To do Brrrrr with my mouth full of food and spray food all over. I learned this without any help for DadiMa and Dadaji.
2, I have also learned to reach and and hold moving parts of my mobile. I love it when I hear gears skipping.
3. I can also reach the top horizontal bar of my crib with one hand. As soon as I learn to use both hands, I will be able to pull myself up and standup.

I thought I will let everyone know what I learned since my Mom and Dad went to Los Vegas.

Love
Uma

Vegas, baby!

Happy New Year everyone!
Sorry for the long delay between posts, but I had to recover after all of the xmas excitement with Nanima, Nanaji, Mamaji and Uncle Dan and Nancy.

I've been having a great 2007, playing with Dadima and Dadaji, and learning to crawl.

Mom and Dad leave for Las Vegas today, which can mean only one thing: party time with the grandparents!
As far as I can tell, there will be few rules and much food (for me and Mommy and Daddy).

Happy Christmas

Merry Christmas Everyone.
Hope Santa was as good to you as he was to me.
No third thumb, sadly, but I wasn't really sure of where I'd put it anyway.
Thanks to all of you for making my first xmas really special.

Uma and the Fat Man

Merry Xmas eve-eve!
I had a wonderful day, hope you did too.
I spent the morning with Nanaji and Nanima, playing, rolling and learning about the Grinch (a most unpleasant fellow, I assure you).
During the afternoon I was with Varma Auntie and Uncle while Mommy and Daddy feasted on homemade dosas.
At the same time I learned Meerauntie's secret: she can cook! Quick, shout it from your cribs, tell your neighbors, it's true!

After lunch, Mommy, Daddy and I went with Meerauntie to see Santa. Apparently he lives near Meerauntie, which makes her a good Meerauntie for a girl to know.
Impressions: Fat, Soft, Happy, Hairy, Near-sighted. All in all okey-dokey.

Evidence of our first meeting is posted herewith. I plan on using this image in the future to demonstrate that I indeed paid early homage to the fatty, which should easily earn me a pony by age 10.
He was kind enough to ask me what I wanted for xmas.
All I want for xmas is a third thumb to suck. My arms are getting tired.

For Whom the Bell Tolls...

A word to the wise, and unwise.
Jingle bells can bite back. Perhaps in response to my prior claims regarding my bell-eating ability, I was attacked by said bells on this past Wednesday.
I was minding my own business, eating my bell, when my lip became firmly stuck in the opening.
I was rescued immediately by Mommy (my hero!), with no visible or lasting effects.

Beware the bells! Beware!

Cheers!

Happy Holidays, everyone.
Today's a big baby travel day... headed to cleveland for xmas.
I had my first sippy cup today, and i liked what i tasted. not to mention that pear juice really gets things moving down below. Mommy and Daddy are going to have fun with the next diaper change! Presents for everyone!

Time for me to pack!
Talk to you all from cleveburgh...

Global Warming

Only nine days until xmas, and my first Minneapolis winter has been a piece of cake. It was sunny and 54 degrees today, and Mom and I enjoyed a nice time on the veranda.
I've moved from simple push-ups to inconsistent scooting forward and back. Giving Mom and Dad plenty of time to ready the house for the new mobile me.
New earrings for today, courtesy of Meerauntie.
Uma will now refer to herself in the third person, as Uma does love her bling.
Uma's going to eat dinner now, and there aint no stopping Uma when it comes to peas and carrots.

Only the Strong Survive

Here's a photo of my first push-up. I've found it is important to exhale on the effort.
With any luck, i'll be crawling soon, and doing these one-handed.
I went to music class today, played a drum and ate some bells. I am just short of being a virtuoso bell-eating machine.
I'm getting excited for xmas, and will write soon.

Mobile time

I recently learned that I can turn my mobile on. It is quite fun. I can turn it on any time I want, even in the middle of the night when Mommy and Daddy are sleeping. I love to watch Travis Hafner (the donkey), Moo Cow (the cow), and Herbert (the sheep) dance above me with the music. Soon I will bring them down to play with me, but for now I like to talk to them while they dance around.

My role model

Orange is my color (Post One of Many)

Hi everyone, and welcome to my blog.
This endeavor began because "blog" was in fact my first word. or it may have been "burlap" or "blowwfffmm". but i digress.
I wanted you all to know that my current favorite food is carrots.
Mommy hooked me up with some choice orange today, and i'm very excited about the whole thing.
I must be going, as i am currently not wearing any pants (carrot-fueled explosion!)
Much love to you all.
